LODDER - Mrs. Dixie Lodder of Olds passed away peacefully at her home April
28, 2004 at the age of 83 years. She is survived by her children Janie
(Wayne) Mehlhorn and their children Kimberly, Melissa and David of Tempe,
Arizona; Derry (Linda) Lodder and their children Erin of Calgary, Cory and
Evan of Kent, Washington; Gordon Lodder and his children Brandon and Dallas
of Olds; Danita Lodder of Calgary; sisters Bep, Janny and Jaan as well as
many nieces and nephews who reside in Holland. Dixie was predeceased by her
husband Paul in December 2002, one brother and six sisters all in Holland.
Dixie was born in Abbenbrock, Holland October 25, 1920. She married Paul on
June 12, 1947 and on June 17 they left Holland and started a new life
together in Canada. They settled in the Gladys Ridge area, south of
Calgary. In 1961, they moved to the farm in the Reed Ranch area east of
Olds. They resided there until 1996 when they moved into the Town of Olds.
Dixie loved animals, flowers, knitting and crocheting and will be sadly
missed by her children, her grandchildren and all who knew her. Memorial
services were held on Tuesday, May 4, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. in the Church of the
Nazarene, Olds with Pastor Al Griffin officiating. In lieu of flowers,
memorial tributes may be made directly to S.T.A.R.S. Air Ambulance. As a
tribute to Dixie Lodder, a tree will be planted in the Heartland Tree

SIEMENS - Leonard “Dino” Siemens, born January 5, 1943. It is with great
sorrow that the family of Dino Siemens announces his sudden passing on April
14th at the age of 61. Dino was greatly loved by many family and friends. He
is survived by his loving wife Janet, her children/grandchildren; his
children Anthony, Naomi and Sheila; his mother Rose Siemens; brother Rick
(Loris), sister Debbie (Ernie) and their children. Predeceased by his father
John and brothers Larry and James.
Dino, often described as a “zealous communicator”, touched many lives with
his passion for people and for life. Dino valued his friends and family more
than anything else. He asked that his funeral be a “celebration of his
life”!
Funeral Services were held at the Zion Evangelical Missionary Church, 2026 -
21 Ave, in Didsbury AB, on Friday April 30th at 11:00 a.m. Interment
followed in the West Zion Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations are
accepted to the Pioneer Ranch Camp Scholarship Fund. A web site has been set

We mourn heavily for our loss but we know that Dad is in heaven with the God
he loved so much and the angels are celebrating his home coming. Rest in

BERGOS - Peter Francis Bergos, beloved husband of Marjorie Catherine passed
away peacefully on May 4, 2004 at the Olds Hospital at the age of 84 years.
Peter was raised in the Orkney area and resided in Bowden before moving to
Olds in 1999.
Besides his wife Marjorie of 56 years, Peter is survived by his daughters
Lynne (Roland) of Edmonton, and Joanne of Edmonton, his son Barry of
Calgary, his sisters Marie of Calgary, Margaret of Kamloops, Jean of
Edmonton, and by his brother Alex (Dorothy) of Drumheller, as well as eight
grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister
Barbara.
Peter made significant contributions to the communities of Bowden and Olds.
He was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion, a charter member of
the Bowden Lions Club, and a member of the Bowden Masonic Lodge.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Olds United Church on Monday, May 10,
2004 at 11:00 am with Reverend Samson Cho officiating. Donations in Peter's
memory can be made to the Bowden United Church (2036 - 18 Avenue, Bowden,
Alberta, T0M 0K0), or the Canadian Cancer Society (200, 215 - 12 Avenue SE,
Calgary, Alberta, T2G 9Z9). The family wishes to thank Dr. Hoeve and the
