CAMP - Paul Camp, beloved husband of Emily Camp, of Calgary,
passed away on Monday, April 15, 2002, at the age of 86 years. Besides
his loving wife Emily of 59 years, Paul will be lovingly remembered by:
four children, Jeannette (Bill) Riches of Red Deer, Shirley (Jim) Power
of Calgary and James (Jackie) Camp of Edmonton; his daughter-in-law, Rose
Camp of Edmonton; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Paul was predeceased by his son Robert P. Camp in 1985 and his grandson, Donald Riches in 1974. Paul was born on November 6, 1916 to Fred and Susanne Camp in Marion, Ohio. Paul and Emily met while they were both in the Air Force. Numerous family and friends shared many happy vacations with him. Paul loved the many family gatherings that were held at his home on numerous occasions to celebrate birthdays, Christmas and any anniversary. He was a good provider, wonderful husband and father and will always be remembered and loved by his entire family. A Memorial Service was held in the Chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home on Saturday, April 20, 2002 at 2:00 pm. Graveside Services followed at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. | CHURCH - Gerald Raymond Church passed away at the Peter Lougheed
Hospital in Calgary on April 13, 2002 after an extended illness. He was
born in Calgary on June 9, 1930. He leaves to mourn his loving wife Lorraine,
sons Gordon (Wendy) Tom, Ken (Donna) David, Dan (Merrill); daughters Connie
(Larry), Linda (Barry), twelve grandchildren and nine great grandchildren
and friend Steve Ellis. Jerry was predeceased by his parents, two sisters,
one brother and two grandsons. Jerry and Lorraine moved to the Fallen Timber District from Calgary in 1968, where he farmed and was employed by Canadian Superior Oil (Mobil Oil) until retirement. He enjoyed tending his farm until illness forced him to sell and move to an acreage. Jerry was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be missed by all. | CROOKS - Thomas Crooks was born August 31, 1907 in Cardston, Alberta,
the eldest son of Fred and Catherine Crooks. Tom spent a great deal of
his younger life working on farms and trucking. He drove trucks when the
Alaska Highway was being built. He was in the army for a short while. He married Hazel Hendry in 1944. Hazel passed away. Tom worked for the Department of Highways. In 1958 Tom married Emilie Thompson of Carnduff, Saskatchewan. Tom and Emilie enjoyed camping across the border with their friends on weekend. They also did many trailer trips to visit family over the years. After Tomís retirement, they moved to Olds to be near family. Their love and pride for their children and grandchildren was their main highlight of life. As time went on it became great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren. Emilie passed away August 12, 1997. Tom continued to live in their home, with the help of family and caregivers coming in. Recently, Natalie came to be a companion for him and they spent many evenings playing cards. Tom passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 4, 2002. He is survived by his children, Charles (Alice) Thompson, Keith Thompson, Val (Gene) Hauck, Gary (Diane) Thompson and their families. Funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 9, 2002 in the Mountain View Funeral Chapel with Bishop Jackson officiating. Interment followed in the Olds Cemetery. CRUICKSHANK - Bob Cruickshank passed away peacefully at the Lacombe Hospital
on February 13, 2002, at the age of 89 years. He was born at Hillcrest and
later in his life went on to the University of Alberta. Bob joined the war and later in his life taught in Stavely, then Olds where he married Marion Maybank. In 1953 Bob and Marion moved to Lacombe to become Principal and teach English at the Lacombe Jr. Sr. High School. He had a great love for teaching. Throughout his life he coached hockey, basketball, football, and numerous other sports. He had a love for golfing, fishing and gardening. Bob had 3 children, David, Jean and Ruth. He is survived by 5 grandchildren, brother-in-law Bob Burgamn, sister-in-law Florrie Maybank and brother-in-law Herb Maybank. Services were held February 16 in Lacombe. |
