Laura moved to the Eagle Hill District in 1945 from Southern Alberta and remained in the immediate area until her passing. The most cherished duty in life, other than to her family, was the commitment to driving a school bus for the County of Mountain View for some 25 years, watching over the children entrusted to her by the community every day. She is survived by her four sons, Lance (Myrtle) of Caroline, Alberta; Jerry (Sharon) of Kamloops, BC; Dale (Jill) of Qualicum Beach, BC and Elwood (Joanne) of Nanton, Alberta, 20 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Florence Phillips of Sundre, Alberta. She will always be lovingly remembered by her family and friends. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the Dr. Richard Parson Care Center Auxiliary, Red Deer, for their relentless dedication and professionalism given to Laura during the time that she was in their care. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Friday the 26th of July, 2002, at the Eagle Hill Community Center. Interment will proceed the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a society of your choice. |
