Bach-Knapp: Pamela Ann Bach-Knapp passed away on May 21, 2005, at the age of 51 years following a courageous battle with cancer.
Pam is survived by her loving daughters Lindsey (Peter) Garner-Knapp of
England and Laurel Knapp of Olds. She is also survived by her parents Daniel
and Catherine Bach, one sister Debbie (John) Radford, and four brothers
John Bach, David Bach, Robert Bach and Ted (Shelley) Bach as well as
numerous nieces and nephews.
Also mourning her passing is her special friend, Dalan (Boj) Milbrandt.
Dalan provided Pam with love, comfort and support during her eighteen month
battle with cancer.
Pam will be remembered for her positive outlook on life, her ready smile and
her competitive spirit. Through her love of sports, especially golf and
curling she made many friendships. She will be sadly missed by many people
whose lives she touched.
A private family funeral service was held at the Mountain View Funeral
Chapel on Monday, May 22 with interment at the Eagle Valley Cemetery.
Friends and relatives gathered at the Forest Heights Golf Course on
Thursday, May 27 to reflect and share in the joy that Pam brought to her
friends and family.
If friends desire memorial tributes may be made to the Canadian Cancer
Foundation.

SANDE, Minnie Alby (Ness). February 25th, 1911 - May 4, 2005.
Minnie Sande passed away peacefully at Pleasant Meadows Lodge, Winfield,
B.C.
Minnie was born on the homestead in Bergen, Alberta, the fifth child of
Josephine and Arnie Ness.
Predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Edwin Alfred Sande, three brothers
and five sisters. Survived by her son Aldred Sande of Ponoka and her
daughter Donna Day of Winfield, B.C., ten grandchildren and twenty great
grandchildren, two sisters, Selma Sees of Olds, and Alice Davidson of
Stettler.
Moved to Kelowna in 1954. She has resided at Pleasant Meadows Lodge for the
last eight years. Celebration of Minnie's life will be held Saturday, July
9th, at 1:00 p.m. at Eagle Hill Hall.
Internment of Minnie's remains will take place at Eagle Hill Cemetery after
the service.
Memorial donations can be made to Eagle Hill Hall Building Fund.
SHIER - Clara Theresa Shier was born in Great Harwood, Lancashire, England
on July 26, 1919 and passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 26, 2005.
Clara immigrated to Canada with her family in 1924, settling in the
Crossfield area where she grew up and went to school. In 1949, she met and
married her lifetime partner and love, Walter Wesley Shier, and together
they started their home on a farm in the Eagle Hill District. In 1956, they
moved to Olds, and raised their family, made many friends and enjoyed life.
Clara trained as a nurse at the Holy Cross Hospital in Calgary and worked in
the Canmore, Olds, and Didsbury Hospitals. She was a lifetime member for 35
years of the IODE Olds Chapter and served on the Catholic Women's League.
Clara delighted in her family and friends, enjoyed horseback riding, playing
crib, crocheting, and knitting. In her later years, she took up painting and
much to our delight, we discovered this very talented lady who decorated our
homes and lives with her treasures.
Clara was predeceased by her husband Walter in 2004, brother Wilfred in
2003, and youngest son David in 1999. She is survived by her five children
Ron (Marion) Cowan of Ponoka, Laura (Dennis) Jersey of Florida, Pat (Toby)
Racette of Calgary, Sandy (Bob) Bryant of Olds, Larry (Hiromi) Shier of
Regina; daughter-in-law Mary Ann Shier of Innisfail; sister Maureen Boyd of
Olds and brother Bill English of Edmonton. Grandma leaves to mourn 18
wonderful grandchildren and 12 terrific great grandchildren whom she
cherished and loved deeply. Many nieces and nephews will miss Auntie Clara.
A Prayer Service will be held at St. Stephen's Catholic Church on Wednesday,
June 29, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass for the late Clara Theresa Shier
will be held at St. Stephen's Catholic Church on Thursday, June 30, 2005 at
1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Baron Tweedsmuir

FOSTER - Helen Louise Foster of Olds, Alberta passed away at the Olds
Hospital and Care Centre on June 20, 2005 at the age of 59 years.
Helen was born in Toronto on June 15, 1946. She traveled all over Canada
before settling in Olds in 1997 with her husband Bob. Helen and Bob met in
1993 and after a whirlwind romance they decided they were a perfect match
for each other and have been happily together ever since. Helen and Bob have
a cat named Rocky, who is a considered a family member. Helen was always
full of laughter and life. She found friends in everyone and everyone who
met her found a true and loyal friend.
Helen is survived by her husband Robert Thibert of Olds, Alberta; sister
Mary Ellen (Bob) of New Castle, Ontario; and cat/child Rocky. She is also
survived by her three children from a previous marriage.
Memorial tributes in Helen's honor may be made to a charity of the donor's
choice. A Memorial Service took place on Thursday, June 23, 2005 from
Mountain View Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place.

RUSSELL - James Robert
James Robert Russell born March 22, 1930 in El Paso, Texas, only son of
Christina (Tiny) (Whyte) Russell/Christie and James Alexander Russell (both
deceased). Survived by his daughter Denyse, husband Steve Schielke and
granddaughters Jessica and Kari.
His travelling spirit started at an early age, from El Paso, to New Orleans,
New York, Costa Rica and Oregon. He and his mother moved to Vancouver, B.C.,
when his father passed away.
Jim attended King George High School, noted for his baseball talent,
graduated in 1948 and on to UBC from '48 to '51. He travelled throughout the
interior of B.C. while employed by GMAC.
Then married, Shirley May (Renning) moving to Abbotsford to join Bill Greene
Motors. Divorced in 1960.
Marilyn Hicks became his second wife, living in Juneau, then Anchorage, they
experienced the quake of 1964. The marriaged ended.
Always a travelling man, Jim helped bring peak enrollment to the Wm. E.
Beltz School in Nome, by flying into the remote villages by bush plane and
recruiting students. The school offered native people training for
employment opportunities. Jim loved the north and the native people and
their customs. Jim moved to Fairbanks, Alaska, he was there for the flood.
In 1967 he moved into the Northward Bldg., and was a resident there till
2001.
Jim enjoyed flying, took lessons and did his solo in 1972. A taxi driver
with Yellow and King cabs before retiring, meeting people from all corners
of the world, reuniting with these friends that he had made, in Japan and
the U.S.
Jim having suffered some illness came to Carstairs, Alberta, to be with his
daughter and her family, he then moved into Sunrise Village in Olds,
Alberta. In 2003, his health worsened and he was moved to Olds Long Term
Care and his final stop was Alberta Hospital, Ponoka, Alberta.
Jim passed away peacefully on June 12, 2005.
Denyse, Steve and the girls would like to sincerely thank the staff at
Sunrise, Olds LTC, and lastly, Alberta Hospital (Horizon), the two lovely
ladies Latha and Bridgette who helped with his visits in his last year.
A private memorial is planned for immediate family only. No flowers please,
