McALLISTER - Sheila McAllister was born April 26, 1933 in Aghadowey,
Northern Ireland the seventh of nine children born to John and Margaret
Mitchel. She spent her childhood years on the farm and spent many hours
helping to care for elderly aunts and uncles. In 1951, she married Hugh
McAllister and lived on the McAllister farm ìThe Crossî. In 1953 Hugh
came to Canada in a farm work program and began work as a hired man near
Rockyford. One year later Sheila joined him with their two small girls.
In 1961, they purchased a 1/4 section in the Ennerdale district and raised
pigs, chickens and shipped cream to provide for their ever-growing family.
In 1968, they purchased another heavily wooded quarter and began the task of
clearing it and building a larger home. Sheila spent many hours working
alongside her husband clearing the land and building up their farm. In 1988
they decided to retire and their oldest son took over the farm.
Sheila was an active member of the church and a member of the CWL for
several years. She was always willing to help out in anyway possible in the
4-H club.
Sheila was predeceased by her father John in 1959; mother Margaret in 1976;
brothers Frances in 1978, and James in 2001. She is survived by her loving
husband of over 50 years Hugh; children Margaret of Red Deer, Marian
(Robert) Froese of Torrington, Frank (Carol), Brendan (Lori), Michael all of
Olds, Kevin (Cathie) of Brooks, Brian, Bernadette of Olds, Patrick (Cindy)
of Airdrie, brothers Brian (Kathleen) Mitchel of Strathmore, Brendan (Anne)
Mitchel, Sean (Jean) Mitchel all of Northern Ireland, sisters Mary Harkin,
Angela (JP) McCleary, Kay (Jack) Logue; grandchildren, Raymond and Jennifer
Thompson, Mark, Karelyn and Kempton McAllister, Cody, Tristan, Aiden and
Justin McAllister, BJ Houle, Kristopher, Kyle and Kelly Letain, Austin and
Kennedy McAllister as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass was held on Saturday, April 20, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. in the St.
Stephens Catholic Church, Olds with Father Les Drewicki celebrant.
Cremation.
Memorial tributes may be made directly to the Canadian Diabetes Association
or the Alberta Heart & Stroke Foundation.

Eda Margrethe Steffensen (nee Oster) passed away after a brief illness in
the Olds Hospital on Monday the 19th of August 2002 at the age of 94.
Eda was born 1st June 1908 in Lynderup, Denmark to Jens and Else Oster,
one
of five daughters and one son.
Leaving her family in Denmark, Eda immigrated to the Olds area in April
1930. She met and married Viggo Steffensen (pre-deceased in 1987) in
November 1935.
She was predeceased by her sisters and brother in Denmark.
Eda was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be
sadly missed by her daughter and husband, Elsa and Lorentz Christie of
Innisfail; her son Eric and wife Norma Steffensen of Cochrane; her son
John
and wife Lil of Calgary; her six grandchildren: Karen and husband Dale
Horsley; Kenneth and wife Norma Christie; Darrell and wife Terry
Steffensen;
Keith and wife Donna Steffensen; and Greg and Serena Steffensen; and also
her seven great-grandchildren: Mark, David, Paula Horsley; Karl and Hans
Christie; and Tamara and Cassandra Steffensen.
She will also be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, and cousins in
Denmark and Canada. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday,
August 24 in Olds at St. Paulıs Lutheran Church with Pastor John Lentz
officiating. Interment followed in the Olds Cemetery.
If desired memorials may be given to the Olds Hospital Memorial Fund, St.
Paulıs Lutheran Church or the charity of choice.

Marilyn (Bolt) Mesiatowsky : Marilyn, beloved wife of Gerd
Mesiatowsky of
Irricana, Alberta passed away suddenly at her home Wednesday, August 28,
2002 at the age of 56 years.
Left to mourn her loss is her son Gary and daughter-in-law (Debbie) of
Calgary. Her daughter Annette and Trevor Poffenroth of Kathryn. Her mother
Edith Bolt of Olds, Alberta and her grandmother Daisy Richey of Olds. Four
brothers Keith and (Trudy) of Calgary, Ted (Incka) of Three Hills. Brian
(Elaine) of Calgary, Rick and Sandra of Three Hills. Two sisters and
brothers in law Deborah and (Jens) Hansen of Calgary. Brother in law Bob
Empey and Ethel of Logan Lake, B.C.
Marilyn was predeceased by her father Wilbur Bolt and sister Betty Jean
Empey.
Burial at Olds Cemetery, Olds. Alberta.

On Saturday, September 14, 2002 Lilah McKinnon, resident of Olds Hospital
and Care Centre, passed away at the age of 82 years.
Lilah will be lovingly missed by sister Ruth (Blanton) McBride of Ft.
Myers,
Florida; brother George (Muriel) Harriman of Edmonton; numerous cousins, 5
nieces, 4 nephews, 16 great-nieces and nephews, 5 great-great nieces and
nephews and countless friends.
Lilah was predeceased by her parents Archie and Mae; husband Mac and
brothers Richard (Ella) and Frank (Kay).

Service of Remembrance will be held on Friday, September 20, 2002 at 2:30
p.m. in the Olds United Church with Reverend Sue Hertell officiating.
