SANK, BERNIE MARK - 1935-2003
Bernie Sank, beloved husband of Helen and father of Bruce, Brent (Char),
Wade, Lynn (Cheryl), and Mona (Greg) passed away suddenly on September
24,
2003 at the age of 68 years. Bernie is deeply loved and will be sadly
missed.
Bernie is survived by his mother Nellie Sank and his four brothers Reg,
Lloyd, Allen and Jerry. He also leaves behind a legacy in his grandchildren
Ric, Kim (Mark), Tawnya (Mike), Nicole, Amanda, Paige, Rachel and David,
and
three great-grandchildren, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and many
good
friends. Bernie was predeceased by his father Frank, sister-in-law Jill,
and
daughter-in-law Brenda.
A funeral service was be held at Mountain View Funeral Chapel, Olds
on
Monday, September 29, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. Funeral arrangements were entrusted

SMITH - Erika Smith passed away on Tuesday,
October 2, 2003 at the age of 81
years. Erika was born in Elbing, Germany on March 8, 1922. She was predeceased
by
her husband, Richard. She leaves to mourn her passing her son Baron
(Evelyn) and their children
Courtney and Michael.
A special thank you goes to the staff at the Olds Extended Care Facility
for
their thoughtfulness and care that Erika received.
Memorial Services were held on Monday, October 6, 2003 at 11:00 a.m.
in the
Royal Canadian Legion, Olds, with Reverend Nancy Nourse officiating.
Memorial tributes may be made directly to the Alberta Heart & Stroke

YZERMAN - Marinus (Ring) Yzerman passed
away at the Olds Hospital on
September 30, 2003 at the age of 98 and will be sadly missed by his
family
and friends.
Ring immigrated from the Netherlands to the Olds area in 1927 and remained
there all his years.
A memorial graveside service was held at the field of honor at the Olds
Cemetery on October 3, 2003.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ring's memory may be made directly
to the
Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #105, Field of Honor, Olds. Funeral
arrangements were entrusted to Mountain View Funeral Chapel, Olds.

HUDSON - Florence Hudson passed away
peacefully at the Olds Long Term Care
Centre on October 23, 2003 at the age of 93 years. Florence was
born
September 26, 1910 at the farm home of Carl and Beret Stromsmoe of Eagle
Hill. She attended public schools at Vale View, Eagle Hill and
Garrington.
Florence married Harry Hudson on June 22, 1932. They together
farmed in the
Garrington area until retiring to Olds in 1967. After Harrys
passing she
moved to Mount View Lodge for some years, later moving to the Olds Hospital
Long Term Care until her passing. She enjoyed her ladies groups
- Mary
Riley Womens Institute and later the Glamis W.I.. Family
and friends were
the greatest part of her life. She always had the coffee pot brewing
and
home cooking by the abundance for anyone and everyone who happened to
drop
by.
She leaves to mourn her daughters Ilene Jones (Ronald Banister) of Bowden,
Velma Dean of Calgary; son Gaylon (Nancy) Hudson of Bowden; grandchildren
Terry and Camilla Jones of Sundre, Sara and Christopher Hudson of Bowden;
great-grandsons Jesse, Dean, Sam and Quin Jones of Sundre; brother Robert
(Dorothy) Olson of Bowden; sister Alice Passmare of Red Deer; brother-in-law
Stanley (Helen) Hudson of Olds; sister-in-law Edith Hudson of Red Deer;
as
well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her
husband
Harry in 1988, daughter Florence in 1934, son Ronald in 1961, parents
Olaf
and Petra Olson and brother Searge Olson in 1994. In keeping with
Florences wishes, no service will be held. Olds Funeral

CORBETT - Margaret Alma (nee Ware).
Margaret, born April 28, 1924 in Llanhilleth, South Wales, passed away
Monday, September 29, 2003 in her 79th year after a lengthy illness.
Margaret was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Earl Laverne Corbett.
Margaret is survived by her daughters, Joyce (Aziz Ellahib) Lindsay
and
Christine (Bill) Jones, adored grandchildren, Terry, Patrick, Trisha
and
Tamara and great grandchildren, Liam, Keely, and Hannah. Three sisters,
Ivy
Holmes, Nancy Cross, and Vida Scarrott also survive her. Margaret was
also
predeceased by her parents and two sisters, Mary Furber and Dorothy
Paton.
Margaret came from Wales to a farm west of Olds at the age of 4 1/2
years.
She was raised by her oldest sister, Mary (Stan) along with Mary's three
sons, Glyn, David and Stanley. Margaret married Earl Corbett on August
26,
1943 in Olds. Margaret and Earl spent 18 years living in Red Deer where
Margaret was on the executive of the Red Deer Figure Skating Club and
was a
Brown Owl for many years. Margaret gave freely of her time, spending
time
volunteering in both Red Deer and Calgary, their next home (1967).
Margaret enjoyed their home and friends in Bearspaw Village and enjoyed
travelling, particularly to Salmon Point on Vancouver Island. As well,
time
spent with her family and friends was treasured by her. She also had
a love
for animals, particularly cats.
Sincere thanks to Calgary Home Care for their years of invaluable in-home
care given to Margaret.
A funeral service was held Friday, October 3, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at Mountain
View Funeral Chapel in Olds with Reverend Blair Whyte presiding. Interment
was held at the Eagle Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in
Margaret's memory may be made directly to the Calgary Humane Society
(SPCA)
