| Viney - Keith passed away at his home on May 6, 2002 at the age of 66 years.
Keith was born on August 30, 1935 in Trochu, Alberta. He spent almost all
of his years in the Olds area as a devoted family man, member of the
community and proud farmer. He gave to his community as a member of the
Masonic Lodge, United Church and president of the Olds Co-op. For the past
several winters, Keith was able to enjoy his home away from home in Arizona
where his many friends will sadly miss his company. Keith took pride in his
family, his farmstead, his crops and his cattle. His farm was always open
to visitors and he always enjoyed hosting summer barbeques for neighbors and
family gatherings. Keith worked extremely hard to make it possible for his
children and grandchildren to experience the rural values and many positive
aspects of an agricultural lifestyle. When directions suddenly changed, his
high level of personal integrity and strong character was witnessed by
everyone that knew him. Keith remained active in agriculture right up until
the day he died as he looked forward to working in the fields this spring. Keith was a leader, a builder and a fine craftsman who never backed away from any challenges thrown his way. He always believed that anything worth doing was worth doing right. Keith enjoyed passing on his many skills and experiences to his children and grandchildren. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren as they have grown up over the years. Keith leaves to mourn his passing, his life partner and soul mate of 46 years, Joyce; his children, Terry (Dixie) of Didsbury, Bruce (Karen) of Olds and Glenda (Greg) of Fort Worth, Texas; his pride and joy were his grandchildren Tanya, Cari-Ann, Nicole, Lindsay, Michael and Cody. Memorial services were held on Thursday, May 9, 2002 at 2:00 pm in the Olds United Church with Reverend Sue Hertell officiating.
