WHITESELL - Christine Marie Whitesell (Doran)
born July 15, 1952 in Ponoka, AB, passed away on October 29, 2002 at
the age of 50 years after a lengthy and courageous battle with multiple
sclerosis.Christine will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 27
years, John C.Whitesell of Sundre; sons Cory Whitesell of Calgary and
Robin Whitesell of Sundre, daughter Lori Whitesell of Sundre; granddaughters
Sierra and Savannah, both of Sundre; brothers Tom Doran of Calgary,
Marvin Doran of Peace River and Doug Doran of Calgary; sisters Kathleen
Jobin (Michael) of Orangeville, ON., Theresa Haakonson (Kermit) of Edmotnon,
Stella Beniuk (Garry) of Edmonton, Marlene Peterson (Louis) of Fort
Vermillion, Mable Kreil (Reg) of Rimbey and Sheila Smith (Raymond) of
Fort McMurray; and her mother Margaret Doran (Walter) of Ponoka. She
is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Christine was predeceased
by her father in July 2002. Christine was raised on a farm north west
of Ponoka and attended the Sylvan Heights and Ponoka High School, graduating
in 1970. She then attended the Misericordia Hospital School of Nursing,
graduating as a Registered Nurse in 1973. She worked as an RN at the
Ponoka General Hospital, the Deer Home in Red Deer and then the Sundre
General Hospital. Christine married John Whitesell in 1975 and retired
from nursing to dedicate her life to her new family and to her church.
Funeral mass was held Saturday, November 2, 2002 at Our Lady of Fatima
Catholic Church in Sundre, followed by a short graveside service at
the Sundre cemetery. In memory of Christine, tributes may be made to
the MS society of Canada. Mountain View Funeral Chapels, Olds, entrusted
with arrangements.
